African Storytelling at School

Today I share with you this interesting video where Beth Seletos and Karen Hall teach their J.W. Mitchell High School students about African Storytelling with a fun has-on learning experience, clip offered by Pasco County Schools channel, from Florida.
I think it is a very good example of how students could make experience of world storytelling at school.

Teaching Proficiency Through Reading and Storytelling

Today I am glad to show you the very interesting work of Adriana Ramirez.
She offers what I define the best way to make school: teaching Spanish with reading and storytelling (TPRS).
I found it very good even watching her clips.
Here is a description from the youtube channel: TPRS is a fun, amazing, and powerful way to learn languages. The results we get when teaching with this method are incredible! In these videos I am teaching first year Spanish students who are in grade 9. These students have never been exposed to Spanish before. In our school, we work on the semester system, and this is week 10 into the 18-week semester. Each video is part of the whole TPRS cycle (teaching one story). I use the stories in the textbook that I wrote for first year Spanish: Teaching Spanish with Comprehensible Input Through Storytelling, and Learning Spanish with Comprehensible Input Through Storytelling. I also published books for Grade 10. Books for Grades 11 & 12 are well on their way.

Body Parts Storytelling

I want to underline this, showing this very nice video of storytelling with kids (the story is about snow man). You can write teaching instead of storytelling too, it is the same to me.
Speaking to kids means doing this.
Look at this smart storyteller/teacher: she is 'down' with them, at their level, watching things with their wonderful and precious point of view.
This is the way making stories become something alive.
