Today I discovered a very fascinating and interesting artist.
Her name is Irka Mateo and she is a Dominican singer, songwriter and world music artist.
From Wikipedia: Her artistic career has been one of breaking boundaries and embracing people’s deepest humanity especially through their music.
The video you are going to watch shows her work at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian on TaĆno (an Arawak people who were indigenous peoples of the Caribbean) and their music and storytelling.
Telling stories and making music to meet other worlds, that is wonderful.
Here is the clip from her Youtube Channel.

Indigenous Storytelling and Children with Autism and ADHD
Indigenous Storytelling and Children with Autism and ADHD, video by Julie Vaudrin-Charette
"As an educator, and as a mother of children diagnosed with ASD and ADHD, I use learnings from Indigenous Storytelling as entry points. Being connected should resonate with being grounded in heart, emotions, body and spirit. This is part of a presentation at Performing the World 2014 conference, NYC."
